DSB Bathrooms recently completed this modern bathroom renovation in Pinhoe, Exeter, transforming an outdated bathroom into a bright, practical space with a spacious walk-in shower, waterproof wall panels, and contemporary chrome finishes.
The Client Brief
The client wanted a stylish bathroom that was easier to maintain and made better use of the available space. They also wanted a larger shower, modern fixtures, and improved storage. Above all, they wanted a bathroom built to last.
Full Bathroom Strip-Out & Preparation
First, we removed the existing sanitaryware, flooring, wall tiles, radiator, and bathroom fittings. Next, we retained the entrance door, ceiling, and selected wall tiles where suitable. This reduced waste while keeping the project efficient.
Throughout the renovation, DSB Bathrooms removed and responsibly disposed of all waste materials.
Plumbing & Building Works
Once the room was cleared, we completed the first fix plumbing and prepared the new layout. Next, we altered the drainage and waste pipework before installing a timber shower tray base. At the same time, we built new studwork to create the shower enclosure and a recessed storage alcove.
Afterwards, we prepared every surface before applying a waterproof tanking system throughout the wet areas. Finally, we completed the second fix plumbing, sealed all joints, and carried out full testing to ensure everything worked perfectly.
Walk-In Shower Installation in Exeter
The new walk-in shower became the focal point of the renovation. We installed:
- 1500mm anti-slip shower tray
- Chrome framed glass shower screen
- Chrome rainfall shower system
- Waterproof concrete-effect wall panels
- Built-in shower alcove
