Modern Bathroom Renovation in Teignmouth with Walk-In Shower

The Client Brief
The client wanted a bathroom that felt brighter and more spacious. They also wanted a larger walk-in shower and contemporary matt black fittings. In addition, they wanted practical storage and low-maintenance finishes. Above all, they wanted a bathroom built to last.
Full Bathroom Strip-Out & Preparation
First, we removed the existing sanitaryware, flooring, wall tiles, and bathroom fittings. Next, we retained the ceiling, entrance door, and timber flooring where possible. This reduced waste and kept the project efficient. Throughout the renovation, our team removed and responsibly disposed of all waste materials.
Plumbing & Building Works
Once the room was clear, we completed the first fix plumbing. We then altered the hot and cold pipework to suit the new layout. Next, we adjusted the drainage and installed a raised timber platform for the shower tray. At the same time, we built new studwork and created a recessed shower alcove. Afterwards, we prepared every surface and applied a waterproof tanking system. Finally, we completed the second fix plumbing and tested everything thoroughly.
Walk-In Shower Installation
The walk-in shower became the centrepiece of the renovation. We installed a 1600mm anti-slip shower tray and a matt black glass shower screen. We also fitted a rainfall shower system and floor-to-ceiling waterproof wall panels. In addition, we added a built-in alcove for extra storage. Together, these features create a stylish shower that’s easy to maintain.
Modern Bathroom Features
To complete the bathroom, we installed a Nero vanity unit and basin. We also fitted a comfort-height WC with a concealed cistern. Next, we installed a matt black basin tap, flush plate, and heated towel radiator. Finally, we added a LED mirror with a demister, charging point, and touch controls. Luxury vinyl flooring completed the modern finish.
