Modern Bathroom Renovation Devon with Patterned Vinyl Flooring
This Modern bathroom renovation Devon project involved a full strip-out and refurbishment to modernise the space while retaining selected existing finishes where feasible.
Completed by DSB Bathrooms, the project included plumbing, electrical, ceiling alterations, vinyl flooring installation, and full-height shower wall panels to create a practical and low-maintenance bathroom finished with contemporary fittings and patterned vinyl flooring.
Rubbish Removal / Disposal
All existing sanitary ware, waste materials, and unwanted fixtures were removed and responsibly disposed of by DSB Bathrooms prior to refurbishment works commencing.
Electrical
1st and 2nd fix electrical works carried out included:
- Installation of 3 spotlights
- New switch positioned externally to the room
- Electric shower isolator installed externally
- Electric shower cable alterations completed
- New switched fused spur isolator fitted
- Existing cabling concealed within ceiling voids and walls where required
All electrical installations were completed and tested upon completion.
Plumbing & Building Works
The existing bathroom was stripped back ready for refurbishment works.
Works included:
- Removal of existing sanitary ware, skirting boards, and wall tiles where required
- Retention of existing floor tiles and selected wall tiles where feasible
- 1st fix plumbing and electrical works completed
- Drainage and waste pipe alterations carried out to suit the new layout
- Self-levelling compound applied over existing tiled floor ready for vinyl flooring
- Ceiling counter battened to allow for panel installation and concealed cable routes
- Ceiling plasterboarded and walls made good ready for wall panels
- Ceiling plaster skimmed and decorated
- Waterproof tanking applied to wet areas
- 2nd fix plumbing and electrical works completed
- Silicone sealing applied where necessary
- Final testing carried out for correct operation and leaks
Flooring
Preparation and installation of patterned vinyl flooring throughout the bathroom.
- Existing floor prepared and levelled
- Vinyl flooring professionally fitted
- Door trims and sealant applied where required
Flooring finish: Cottage Garden Allium Patterned Vinyl
Shower Wall Panels
Full floor-to-ceiling shower wall panel installation completed throughout the bathroom.
- Surfaces prepared ready for installation
- PVC wall panels fitted
- Chrome trims installed where required
- All joints sealed for a watertight finish
Painting & Decorating
Preparation and decorating works completed to the ceiling areas.
- Ceiling surfaces prepared
- Ceiling painted and finished
- Existing doors, architraves, and linings excluded
Sanitary Ware Installation
Installation of new bathroom suite and accessories including:
- Infinity basin vanity unit and basin
- Bijoux back to wall WC and concealed cistern
- Lux bath with Atlantis bath panels
- AKW electric shower installation
- Chrome basin and bath taps
- Electric chrome towel radiator
- Bathroom accessories including towel bar, robe hook, and toilet roll holder
Testing
All plumbing and electrical components were tested on completion to ensure correct operation and leak-free installation.
Variation Notes
The estimate excluded the following optional or variable works:
- LED round mirror supplied and fitted
- Potential alternative WC arrangement if concealed cistern dimensions were unsuitable
- Relocation of washing machine if required
Additional works outside of the agreed specification would be subject to additional cost.
